Ponce de Leon Inlet Light Station

Completed in 1887, the Ponce de Leon Inlet Light Station was built when the area was known as Mosquito Inlet. After decades of restoration by the Ponce de Leon Inlet Lighthouse Preservation Association, it stands today as one of the best preserved, most complete Light Stations in the nation. More details.

Wednesday from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. It is held at the Volusia County Fairgrounds in Deland with free admission and free parking. More details.

Daytona Beach Dog Park

Grayce Kenemer Barck North Beach Community Park

In New Smyrna, the Grayce Kenemer Barck North Beach Community Park allows dogs on the beach. It is located at 1100 N. Atlantic Avenue in New Smyrna. There are several paths that take you to the beaches as well as clean-up bags. There is a dog washing station when you return to the parking lot from the beach. Dogs are still required to be on a leash but they can experience the river or the ocean waters.

 

Halifax Historical Museum

Dedicated to preserving the history of the Halifax River and offers numerous exhibits and special events. More details.

Daytona Beach Bandshell

A castle-like, 1920s amphitheater. Located on the beach and hosts various concerts and live entertainment. More details.

This museum features a number of photographic works and is dedicated to education. More details.

Museum of Arts and Sciences

Halifax Art Festival

Held in the Downtown Marketplace. This is the 2nd oldest art festival in the state of Florida. More details.

Speed Weeks

Includes the Daytona 500 and the Coke Zero 400 NASCAR races. More details.

The Turkey Run

Car show, car corral, swap met, and arts and fashion, held in the infield of the Daytona International Speedway. Held during Thanksgiving week and then again in the Spring. More details.

Biketoberfest 

Show off your bike and participate in motorcycle shows, while also enjoying a wide variety food, music, and entertainment. More details.

Volusia County Home and Garden Show

The Volusia County Home and Garden Show is held annually at the Ocean Center. Visitors can view landscaped gardens and various flowers, as well as attend lectures. This event also features a children’s discovery zone designed to educate kids on environmental issues. More details.
